Flat horizon project

Thank you so much for signing up on the Peer Feedback page with your classes!

I just did a quick revamp of the page, so hopefully it’s a little more easy to read now (I love tables!).

Just to let you know there are still 3 groups that need SB classroom peer reviewers. I think there might be some people on this list that still haven’t signed up with your class yet (maybe Jo?). If you could please take a look here:
http://horizonproject2008.wikispaces.com/Sounding+Board+Feedback
And add your name next to 2 of the groups (if you have a full class working on this, just one if you only have a few kids) so we have all of the projects covered on Monday - when peer reviewing should start.

We have 8 classes on the list, so if everyone signs up for 2 topics, we should more than cover the 13 topics (which will allow Thomas, who only has 2 students involved, and George, who only has 5 students involved, to do just 1 each).

If you have lots and lots of kids involved in this project (maybe Madeline?), maybe you could sign up for 3 or 4 wiki groups just to make sure we get them all covered.

Also, If you were not able to attend the Elluminate meeting, a recording has been provided here:

Deadlines: All SB peer reviews *must* be posted by May 16th.

Peer Review Groups: All SB classrooms will peer review 2 topics (with a few exceptions of classes doing only 1 topic). All teachers will add their name next to the group they chose on the Sounding Board Peer Feedback page by the end of the day today (April 30): http://horizonproject2008.wikispaces.com/Sounding+Board+Feedback

Tagging: All work related to this SB feedback will be tagged with our (now) standard tags - this includes comments left on the discussion board and individual wikis made by teachers and students. Tag standards are posted on the SB Peer Feedback page next to the group name: http://horizonproject2008.wikispaces.com/Sounding+Board+Feedback

Process:

Step 1: All SB classrooms will have their students follow the Peer Evaluation Criteria & Summary feedback form to give feedback: http://horizonproject2008.wikispaces.com/Peer+Evaluation+Criteria

Step 2: This feedback will be copied and pasted (or typed directly into) the discussion tab of the wiki page they are reviewing WITH the tag in the content of the text AND a clear title that says: Peer Review of [group name]

Step 3: If SB classrooms use their own wiki, they will link their peer review pages on the SB Feedback Page: http://horizonproject2008.wikispaces.com/Sounding+Board+Feedback next to, or underneath the group name that they’re reviewing.

Thanks Kim for tidying up the sounding board page. It does look so much better.

I was caught off guard.  My class goes on camp next week and there are interruptions the week after that.

We therefore got to work on providing feedback this week.  I thought it was better to supply some feedback as compared to much later.

You may have a look at our examples (could be bad examples) at:

http://horizonproject2008.wikispaces.com/Sounding+Board+Feedback

No. 6 Social Operating Systems.

I emphasised in class that each HP wiki page was a “work in progress” and the evaluations were different as compared to evaluating a completed end product.  We could expect unfinished sections.

We placed the tag in the subject area of the wiki discussion tab:

eg. Peer Review sb_socialoperatingsytemsB

We also placed the tag at the bottom of the body of the message.
eg tag: sb_socialoperatingsystemsC

Thank you so much for all your hard work! Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help.
