Make sure you have joined the wiki (this wiki!). It is a 2-step process.
- Go to flatclassroom project Make sure all of your students have joined the wiki (this wiki!). It is a 2-step process, so you have two wikis to join. In the top right hand side there is a request to Join.
Once this is approved you need to come back to the current project wiki, sign into flatclassroom wikispaces and then on the left hand side (of this wiki) select Join this wiki
The TEAM GRID has been finalised! We have 10 classrooms and about 220 students! - Find your TOPIC wiki and add your name under TEAM MEMBERS towards the end of the wiki (example linked is from the Workflow Software wiki). To clarify, each student is in a Topic Team and also an impact area AND a video theme type. For example students in Team 1A are researching ‘Connecting the World Online’, they are expected to put their name on the team wiki next to ‘Current News’, and contribute to this section of the wiki in particular. They are also going to design their multimedia influenced by ‘The Story: Explaining the topic’.
- Topic research and wiki editing should be the main focus for the next week. Each student is to contribute to the wiki and adopt a ‘Wikipedia’ editing approach where there is no direct ownership of contribution. You need to contribute! Do not worry if you are the first to add anything. Edit and improve other people’s work. You will need to provide an investigation report. You should make what is there already better in quality should then be seen on the collaborative wiki.
- Use of the Discussion Tab on the wiki: All participants need to add a discussion comment each time they put effort into editing the wiki. It may be after a period of work e.g. during a class, where at the end they leave a summary for their team members. Students should also be replying to others and DISCUSSING the work in progress in a collaborative and problem-solving manner. Teachers will also be contributing to this discussion.
