This week we will celebrate a special end to our collaboration with another nation. Over the last few weeks we have got to know each other by sharing blog posts and live blogging. On Friday the students from collaborationnation will return to their school at 8pm to share a videoconference or webcast with us.
In order to make the best of this session, you are asked to:-
Do a show and tell? “Bring in one object that you love and explain why, sort of thing…”
Mr Bogush wrote:-
“My kids are posting their answers to the blog post–it is soooo hot—they are letting us out early today. Suppose to get close to 100 degrees, but it is the Connecticut humidity that really makes it miserable.”
Here in southern Australia, it is quite cool and we are lighting fires or switching on heaters. We look forward to our session with you on Friday.
Aussie students I need you to:-
- write a comment back on this post, suggesting some of the items that we could bring for show and tell, and why. Also make any suggestions about what you would like them to bring in and show you.
- reply to nrs08 answering his prompt for the week as a post in your blog. Add a suitable image. Copy and paste the text of your post as a comment in nrs08’s blog.
- goto the collaborationnation site and make comments on some of the blogs.
Here is my answer to which is your favourite holiday…
I am with the majority of students, in that Christmas is my favourite holiday. There are 5 weeks off school over summertime. Our new school year starts at the end of January. At
the beginning of Dec we put up an artificial Christmas trees with lots of decorations throughout the house. We hang fairy lights all around our outside patio. Two weeks before Christmas my family looks for a pine tree growing on the side of the road to bring into our lounge room. The smell of the pine needles permeates the air and gives it a Christmas feel.
We get together with family, have lots of presents and enjoy a roast turkey, lamb, beef, chicken and ham with hot vegies lunchtime meal. At night we have cold meat and salads. For the last two weeks of these holidays, we go camping in a caravan to Pt Fairy – a lovely seaside town where we go swimming in the sea every day.
