A Day in a Sentence visits the "Land down under"
(Aussie, Aussie, Aussie oi!oi!oi!)
For the weekly "day in a sentence", we will experiment using
· a voicethread respsonse and/or
· the usual text reply via a comment on this post.
I am priveleged to host this activity for the week, so thank you for joining in.
You will need a VoiceThread account to use this platform. It is easy to get one and is a great way to experiment with one of the most popular applications on the Web right now. Either follow the link to sign up on this VoiceThread or head to http://voicethread.com/ Make sure you apply for the free educational version if you are a teacher.
If you want to add your sentence, but you would rather not use VoiceThread, you can add it to the comment link on this post. Please introduce yourself, first, and then tell us about your day in one sentence.
(Instructions are below for adding to the thread)
User Instructions To add voice: press record>allow and then wait to see the recording text come up>talk your sentence>stop recording. Wait a few seconds and it will automatically play back your recording. If unhappy, click cancel and commence recording again. When satisfied, click save. Even when it is saved, You can delete your recording by clicking on your image and selecting the rubbish bin in the bottom right hand corner. Any problems or queries, contact me (via a comment on this post) or check out my contact details or Kevin. Thanks Kevin, for letting me be host for the week!!We look forward to hearing you, and your day's experiences.

(I know I did the VoiceThread, but here is my sentence in writing, too)
Teaching the true meaning of praise is not as easy as it seems, as my students fall into the trap of equating praise with common friendship instead of the act of recognizing the internal goodness of someone else.
Hi Anne,
Just added my contribution. Hope I didn’t talk too fast
Thanks for letting me contribute!
Cheers,

Hi Anne,

I’ve just recorded my sentence. Thanks for hosting this week’s sentence and thanks for letting me post my sentence.

Oh,
I forgot to include my website

I am watching Spring spring all around me, from the tiny onion grass sprouts in the backyard, to the extra hour of daylight each day (yeah!!), to another year layered on my illustrious life, to the rambuctious young buck behavior in my students, everything short of ramming horns against one another – winter is certainly thawing.
What a cool project idea! I might use this with some of the students/classes I am working with. I am starting a blog with a group of students. They should have their first post done next week. I will keep you posted. Our site is located at http://sites.epals.com/hdennis/

This week’s submission.
“The best way to sum up my week is simply to say that I’m happy Spring Break is already upon us.”
Perhaps I need more colorful clothing to match my profession: juggling student projects, egos, excitement, boredom, struggles, and procrastination skills is exhausting but oh so worth it.
A Bluebird bringing bliss to our blizzard-covered backyard, bounces from branch to branch with bright burbles until a block of window glass blunts its beak with a bitter blow.
I’ve been all about productivity this week: cleaning, preparing, meeting, thinking.

This was my first time completing a VoiceThread. It’s definitely a run-on sentence but here’s a short silly report to sum up my week at the CUE conference…

I love all the new voices.
I hope folks will continue to join Day in a Sentence as it moves back home to my blog (http://dogtrax.edublogs.org/) and then out to others again (I believe Bonnie will be hosting from her sojourn in Israel next week but still working on the particulars).
You have done a fantastic job, Anne.

Wonderful use of voicethread. It’s fun to click on at different points in the week and watch as the faces around the box grow and it’s even easier on you as host. LOVE THIS!
